STANLEY MONROE HORTON (May 6, 1916-July 12, 2014)--Pentecostal scholar, theologian, professor, and author. The folders in this file have been labeled chiefly as Dr. Horton labeled them and have been arranged in alphabetical order.

Some interesting family connections--Stanley Horton is the grandson of Elmer K. Fisher, pastor of the Upper Room Mission, Los Angeles, at the time of the Azusa Street revival. Fisher's daughter, Ruth, later married a young minister, Wesley R. Steelberg, who later served as the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God from 1949 until his death in 1952. Ruth later married Howard Carter of England and ministered and traveled with him in 30 countries around the world. The Horton correspondence includes a postcard from Wesley Steelberg (Uncle Wes) (1940s) and letters from Ruth Steelberg Carter (1960s and 70s).
